This is Mr. Cassedy's fifth year teaching in the Windham School District. His first four years were spent as the middle school's concert and jazz band director and teacher of music appreciation. Mr. Cassedy has left Windham Middle School to become Windham High Schools first band director. He graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire - Durham where he received his Bachelor's of Music Degree in Music Education with a specialization in wind ensemble and choral conducting/pedagogy. His instruments of primary study were piano and clarinet. He was also the drum major of the UNH Wildcat Marching Band for three years. Mr. Cassedy has been the musical director of many collegiate and semi-professional shows in New Hampshire. He has also acted as the assistant marching band director for both the Exeter High School and Pinkerton Academy marching bands. In January of 2007, Mr. Cassedy was hired as the conductor of the Windham Community Band, which is a wind ensemble involving community musicians of all ages and abilities. Mr. Cassedy is an alumnus of Salem High School in Salem, NH where he conducted the Blue Devil Marching Band and Color guard for two years. Teaching music is his greatest passion where he hopes to continue showing students the importance of music in their lives.
